Edale is a small community of about 300 residents spread across 5 “booths” around the Edale Valley. Barber Booth, Upper Booth, Ollerbrook Booth, Nether Booth and Grindsbrook Booth where The Hermitage is located. Grindsbrook Booth is the main heart of the village and is home to the church, the school, 2 pubs, 2 cafes, the village hall and the railway station.
Despite it’s small size, Edale has a wealth of community groups and activities including a tennis club, a biannual pantomime and a horticultural society to name but a few.
Whilst Edale may seem quite remote it is actually very well connected. Edale railway station has services every hour or so to Manchester and Sheffield along the Hope Valley line with connections to London taking about 3h10m.
If you work from home then there’s also fibre broadband (FTTC) in Edale. The Hermitage has download speeds of 37 Mbps and upload of 7 Mbps on the current line. There’s also a Three and EE mobile signal (both 4G) giving good service at The Hermitage.
